●私の任期ももう残り少ない. My term is running out. | I don't have many days to go 《as President》. | There aren't many (more) days till the end of my term.

・残り少ない夏休みの一日を図書館で過ごした. I spent one of the few remaining days of the summer vacation [holiday] in the library.

・残り少ない命だから, うまいものをたくさん食べて死にたい. I don't have long [much longer] to live and I want to eat a lot of delicious things before I die.

残り少なくなる 〔物が〕 run short [low]; get low; (なっている) there is little [are few] left; there isn't much [aren't many] left; 〔期間が〕 draw to an end [a close].

●砂糖が残り少なくなった. Sugar is running low [short]. | There is not much sugar left. | Most of the sugar has gone.

・今年も残り少なくなった. The year is drawing to a close.
